Scott Elementary School has been named to Georgia’s prestigious “Beating the Odds” list for the previous school year. 📈🏆
This recognition is awarded to schools that outperform expectations based on their unique student population and context. The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement conducts a rigorous analysis, comparing each school’s performance on the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) to similar schools statewide. 📊📚

🏗️✨ We're Almost There!
As we count down to the opening of our brand-new 6–12 campus, we’re excited to welcome families to Open House this Friday at 5:00PM!
Please excuse the dust as we put the final touches on the buildings. Friday’s Open House experience may look a little different than what students will see on the first day of school—but rest assured, our construction and cleaning crews are working around the clock to have everything ready by Monday.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prepare to open the doors to a new chapter of learning and opportunity. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back!

As we gear up for a strong start, here are a few 📚✏️ Back to School Safety Tips 🚸🎒 for students and families to help ensure a safe and smooth return to campus:
1️⃣ Plan Your Route:
Whether walking, biking, or taking the bus, plan your route ahead of time and stick to well-lit, familiar paths.
2️⃣ Stay Visible:
If you’re traveling early in the morning, wear bright or reflective clothing and use a flashlight if needed.
3️⃣ Buckle Up:
Always wear your seatbelt. Younger students should be properly secured in car seats or booster seats appropriate for their age and size.
4️⃣ Backpack Safety:
Keep backpacks light—no more than 10-15% of your body weight. Use both shoulder straps and pack heavier items closest to your back.
5️⃣ Stranger Danger:
Remind children to never accept rides, gifts, or help from strangers. Set clear rules for safe behavior when walking to and from school.
6️⃣ Cyber Safety:
For older students, practice smart cyber habits—avoid sharing personal information and speak up about cyberbullying.
7️⃣ Hand Hygiene:
🧼 Good handwashing and carrying hand sanitizer help prevent the spread of germs—especially during cold and flu season.
8️⃣ Know Emergency Contacts:
Make sure your child knows how to reach you and understands what to do in an emergency.
9️⃣ Stay Informed:
📲 Parents—stay connected through school websites, the TCS app, and social media for updates, events, and school policies.
🔟 Be Kind and Supportive:
Encourage students to look out for one another, be inclusive, and help create a positive school culture from day one. 💛
Let’s make this school year a safe and successful one! 🏫✨ Share these tips with friends and family, and feel free to add more suggestions in the comments. 📢📓👩🏫👨🎓
