Students in Ms. Bennett’s class explored how “O” and “A” team up to make the long O sound—just like in goat! With a fun and memorable (and a little silly!) connection, students practiced the OA pattern while building confidence in their reading skills.

Students in Mrs. D. Jones’s Career Class recently welcomed the Southern Regional Technical College Nursing Program for an engaging, hands-on learning experience.
Our 8th graders practiced identifying healthy vital signs using a stethoscope, pulse oximeter, and thermometer, and learned the proper steps for putting on personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent infection.
Experiences like this give students a meaningful look into healthcare careers and help connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities.
A big thank you to the SRTC nursing team for investing in our future healthcare professionals! 💙

Thomasville High School junior Ella Rodd has been selected to participate in the 2026 Colony Leadership Academy — an honor awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding leadership potential in their schools and communities.
This competitive eleven-month program provides hands-on leadership experiences and professional training through the Fanning Institute at the University of Georgia. Participants gain valuable insight into areas such as economic development, public safety, arts and culture, education, government affairs, and community service.
Upon completion, Ella will also be eligible for up to a $1,000 scholarship toward the college or university of her choice.
Ella’s selection reflects her leadership, service, and commitment to making a positive impact. We are proud to see our Bulldogs continuing to grow as future leaders in our community and beyond! ❤️💛

The Thomasville City Schools Drama Program’s upcoming production of “SUFFS” The Musical is making an impact beyond the stage. Cast and crew members are donating books on the women’s suffrage movement to the libraries at Harper, Jerger, and Scott Elementary Schools, helping bring powerful stories of leadership and perseverance to our youngest learners.
The donated titles highlight influential suffragists such as Susan B. Anthony, Ida B. Wells, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, introducing elementary students to the decades-long journey that led to the passage of the 19th Amendment.
This meaningful connection between our high school drama program and our elementary classrooms demonstrates how the arts can educate, inspire, and build community across all grade levels.

Students in Mrs. Russo’s AP Biology class stepped into the role of scientists during their recent Animal Behavior Lab.
Designing and conducting their own experiments, students explored how bugs respond to different environmental stimuli. Some groups tested the effects of light, others introduced cold conditions using ice, and a few experimented with black lights to observe behavioral changes.
This engaging, inquiry-based lab gave students the opportunity to apply the scientific method in real time — analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and deepening their understanding of how environmental factors influence animal behavior.
