🏁🔧 An Exciting Day for Bulldog Innovation! 🔧🏁
Today, Thomasville High School students put their skills to the test during our Advanced Manufacturing Pilot (AMP) Pinewood Derby Car Race, applying engineering, design, and problem-solving skills in a real-world setting. Through our partnership with Georgia Tech, students are gaining exposure to advanced manufacturing concepts that reflect real industry practices and expectations.
Students designed, engineered, built, tested, and raced their derby cars using industry-standard tools, including Fusion design software, CNC machines, and 3D printers—developing skills in precision, data analysis, and iterative design along the way.
A special thank you to the Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) manufacturing staff for their assistance and expertise throughout this pilot experience. Their guidance and support played a key role in helping students refine their designs and think like engineers.
Today’s race provided valuable data and feedback, and now our students are ready to make adjustments, improve performance, and prepare for their next challenge. We’re excited to see our Bulldogs compete in two weeks against other advanced manufacturing programs in Bainbridge as they continue this innovative learning experience.
This work is a powerful example of our Bulldog +1 initiative in action, connecting classroom learning to real-world skills, meaningful partnerships, and future career pathways. We’re proud of our students, staff, and partners for creating opportunities that prepare Bulldogs for what’s next.

🎬🌦️ Saturday Shoutout – Student Spotlight! 🌞🎬
Lights, camera, action!
We’re shining the spotlight on Cooper Sedam, a 4th grade student at Jerger Elementary, who was selected as a WCTV Weather Kid! 🌟
Cooper has a big passion for weather and science and is a regular viewer of WCTV’s weather segment—so being chosen for this opportunity was a dream come true. His official debut aired this past Thursday, where he had the chance to visit the studio, meet the WCTV team, and join the weather segment alongside the professionals.
It’s incredible to see a student’s curiosity and love for learning turn into a real-life experience that he’ll remember forever. A huge thank you to WCTV for inspiring young learners and creating moments that truly make an impact for a lifetime!
👏 Shoutout to Mrs. Teehee, Cooper’s science teacher, for helping grow his love for weather and science, and to our amazing TCS teachers who pour into our students every day. These partnerships and passions are what learning is all about!

We’re proud to reflect on the incredible transformation of our new Thomasville 6–12 School campus, a project that brings middle and high school students together on one unified site—honoring our past while building boldly for the future.
With the former high school building more than 50 years old, this project represents a major investment in our students and community. Construction took place on an active campus, with up to 700 students on site daily, and includes a three-story instructional building, CTAE facility, gym, kitchen and cafeteria, field house, major site improvements, and thoughtful renovations to two historic Scholars Academy buildings—beautifully blending legacy with modern functionality.
This past December, we celebrated this milestone with our official ribbon cutting, marking more than the opening of new buildings. These updates go far beyond brick and mortar, fresh paint, and new flooring. They bring new energy and revitalization to the heart of Thomasville City Schools—strengthening what defines us across academics, arts, and athletics.
This campus represents the past, present, and future of TCS—rooted in tradition, designed for today, and built to support the next generation of Bulldogs for years to come. 🐾❤️
Thank you to Parrish Construction Group and all our partners for helping bring this vision to life.

Ahead of the holiday break and with future breaks in mind, MacIntyre Park Middle School 6th graders explored reading ideas designed to keep them learning year-round.
Ms. Janice Jones’s 6th grade class recently welcomed special guest Summer Luna from the Thomas County Public Library, who shared exciting reading opportunities students can enjoy during school breaks. She highlighted The Secret Library by Kekla Magoon, sparking thoughtful discussion and encouraging students to ask great questions and explore new books.
