Congratulations to Coach Jackie King and the THS Lady Bulldogs Volleyball team on winning the 1A - Area 1 Championship tonight with their wins over Taylor County and Chattahoochee County.
The Lady Dogs finish the regular season 16-7 and undefeated in Area play. They will begin the playoffs at home after Fall Break.

Today, Mrs. Nicolay’s Literature students at Thomasville High School had the privilege of meeting bestselling author Shelby Van Pelt, whose debut novel, REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES, is not only a New York Times bestseller but also a selection of the Read with Jenna Today Show book club.
As part of our Thomas County One Book campaign, Mrs. Van Pelt shared her inspiring journey to becoming an author, detailing the challenges and triumphs she faced along the way. Her candid discussion about the writing process resonated deeply with our students, fostering a lively Q&A session that was both engaging and insightful.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shelby Van Pelt for her visit and for sharing her remarkable story. We hope she enjoys all that Thomasville, GA, has to offer during her stay!

✨This week the State Department of Education released SAT average scores for high school graduates for the Class of 2024. Thomasville City SAT Scores Lead Southwest Georgia RESA!✨
For the seventh year in a row, Georgia public-school students outperformed their counterparts in the nation’s public schools on the SAT. Specifically, Georgia public-school students recorded a mean score of 1030, 35 points higher than the national average for public-school students of 995.

Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) is sponsoring its annual high school student video contest for member districts across the state. Winners will be recognized at the GSBA/GSSA Annual Conference in Atlanta, and the first, second and third place winners will be awarded $1,000, $500, and $250 respectively for their school's video production program!
The GSBA Awards Committee will review and judge the Student Video Awards nominees in November. The nominees will be notified of the Committee’s selections that month.

The school system extends thanks to the City of Thomasville Public Works and utilities crews who have worked tirelessly to clear out streets and restore power to make it possible for us to reopen our schools.
