Today, students who met their Accelerated Reader (AR) goals got to use their hard-earned tokens in our new Book Vending Machine. Some superstar readers even earned multiple tokens - talk about growing your home library fast! 📚🏠
We're beyond grateful to the Thomasville Antique Show Foundation for their generosity in bringing this opportunity to our students. It's heartwarming to see how excited our young readers are to choose their own books!

🌿🔬 Biology in Action! 🔬🌿
Our biology students had a hands-on experience this past Friday in Mrs. Russo's class at Thomasville High School!
They examined prepared slides, created their own slides using cheek cells, and observed samples of pond water from two different locations under microscopes. 🦠👀 It was a fantastic way to dive deep into the microscopic world and explore the diversity of life all around us! 🌊💧

As part of the literacy initiative at Scott Elementary, staff is focused on helping students build their own at-home libraries and foster a love for reading. Stephanie Sharp, the Media Specialist at Scott Elementary, expressed her enthusiasm in announcing that their grant proposal to the Thomasville Antique Show Foundation has been approved! Thanks to this grant, Scott Elementary has obtained new books and an Inchy Bookworm Vending Machine for the school.
Students who meet their individual Accelerated Reading (AR) goals will earn tokens that they can use in the Book Vending Machine, which is stocked with a variety of engaging and diverse books appropriate for different reading levels. This initiative ensures that every student has the opportunity to acquire several new books each school year.
To commemorate this exciting new addition, we hosted an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony this afternoon at Scott. Thank you again to Thomasville Antique Show Foundation, plus Literacy for Thomas County and Thomasville City School officials and Board Members that were in attendance.

Mr. Adams Biomedical Science class at Thomasville High School wrapped up a week of hands-on learning last week! 🕵️♀️🔍 They dove into the steps of crime scene investigation, putting their analytical skills to the test. Instead of a traditional quiz, they analyzed crime scenes, gathered evidence, and interviewed witnesses this morning. 🧬👀 Proud to see their investigative skills in action! 👏
