🕰️ Thursday Throwback Vibes! 🕰️ THS went back in time today for day four of Homecoming Week! Students and staff rocked their favorite styles from the past, filling the halls with decades of fashion and fun.

Today’s Homecoming theme: Opposite Day! 👚👔 Teachers dressed like students, and students took on the role of teachers. The creativity was on point, but the teachers nailed it down to every detail! Such a fun day full of laughs and school spirit.

The Georgia Certificate of Merit is an award given to students in Georgia who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in the first three years of high school. The Georgia Certificate of Merit Program recognizes the top 10% of students in the junior class. This year we were able to honor 19 students for this prestigious award! 🎉 Congratulations to Wesley Montgomery! 🎉 Wesley placed 3rd in the Tractor Operations Career Development Event! 🚜🌟 During the competition, Wesley demonstrated his skills by excelling in a written exam, solving problem questions, and maneuvering a tractor through a challenging driving course. 🔍 Last week, Thomas County Sheriff Investigator Tim Watkins visited Mr. Bryant's history classes to talk about "Due Process." Students had the opportunity to learn firsthand about this important constitutional principle and its impact on law enforcement and justice. A big thank you to Investigator Watkins for sharing his expertise!

✨Substitute Teacher Training Update✨ Thank you to everyone who signed up and came to our substitute training sessions at Thomasville City Schools. We trained over 130 substitute teachers who are ready to work with our students! If you are still interested in substitute teaching, Southwest RESA has a great option to become credentialed. Here are the steps: 1. Apply with our School System - Please complete the following steps: https://yossplatform.com/companylogin/Thomasville After clicking on this link, 1. New candidate of Thomasville City Schools. 2. Register as a new user 3. Input information for your new user account 4. Click My Application 5. Click Submit New Application 6. Select Classified employee 7. Once application is complete, click apply button for the substitute position (JB75) 2. Complete online Training through SWGA Resa https://www.swresa.org/substitute-teacher-training Once your training is complete, you will be sent a certificate from SWGA Resa. Please email this certificate to youngl@tcitys.org. 3. Schedule a Background Check Call or email youngl@tcitys.org and we can set up a time to complete this in our office. You must bring your social security card and driver's license. 4. Approved by the Board of Education Once you have completed steps 1-3, pending background check results, you will be added to our board report. We usually have these at least once a month.
