Congratulations to both our Boys and Girls Basketball teams on their region sweeps of Cook and Early County over the weekend.
On Friday night in Adel, the girls defeated the Lady Hornets 56-34. Saturday night at home they were able to defeat the Lady Bobcats in thrilling fashion 54-53 in overtime. With the wins the girls moved to 6-0 in Region 1-AA play and 13-6 overall.
The boys improved to 15-4 overall and also are 6-0 in Region 1-AA games after defeating Cook 67-34 on Friday and Early County 75-48 Saturday night.
Both teams return to action Friday night at home vs Worth County for Senior Night!
I would also like to congratulate our Swimming and Diving team. Next week, we will have 8 student-athletes going to Atlanta to compete in the GHSA State Swimming and Diving Championships. Divers AC Taylor and Jake Tinney will be competing on Thursday February 3rd in the diving portion of the competition. On Friday February 4th, the girls 200 Freestyle Relay team of Natalie Herrin, Makenna Ponder, Katherine Jones, and Olivia Suite will compete in the team event. Lewis Stringfellow and Makenna Ponder will also be competing in individual events that day.
