Biography

Dr. Raymond L. Bryant, Jr., is a professional educator with 27 years of experience. Dr. Bryant received his educational training from Florida A & M University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. in Elementary Education in 1995 & 1997, respectively. He continued his educational preparation earning an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Florida State University and an Ed.D. from NOVA Southeastern University.

Over Dr. Bryant's 27 years he has served school districts in many roles to include as a 6th and 8th grade teacher at SwiftCreek Middle School in Leon County Schools, FL. He also taught 5th grade at Pate's Creek Elementary in Henry County Schools, GA. Dr. Bryant entered building level administration as an Assistant Principal and Principal at Factory Shoals Elementary in Douglas County Schools, GA from 2001-2008. Upon returning to Henry County Schools he begin his tenure in the district office serving in numerous progressive leadership roles for 12 years. Dr. Bryant served in the following roles including Coordinator of Elementary Schools, Coordinator of Leadership Services, Director of Leadership Services, Interim Assistant Superintendent of Leadership Services, Executive Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, and Chief Operations Officer. Before beginning his tenure in Thomasville City Schools he served as a Leadership Consultant with the Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement (GLISI) from 2019-2021.

Dr. Bryant begin his tenure in Thomasville City Schools as Superintendent in July 2021.

Dr. Bryant is married to Lamona who is a professional educator and they have 2 children Lawrence and Lauren who both attend Florida A & M University.
