Latin Club Hosts Mini-Convention and Attends Fall Forum

Latin students from Scholars Academy, Colquitt County High School, and Tallahassee's Christ Classical came together to celebrate the classics at Scholars Latin Club's Mini Convention on October 19, 2019.  The Mini-Convention included groups participating in Greek dancing. 

Guests of Latin's Club's Mini-Convention collect supplies to create art pieces related to Greek mythology. 

Sixth graders Ana Chambers and Hailey Hudson create impromptu art pieces related to Greek mythology. 

Maggie May and Iris Allgrove present a lecture on Roman weaponry and create their own fasces, a bound bundle of wooden rods, sometimes including an axe with its blade emerging. The fasces had its origin in the Etruscan civilization and was passed on to ancient Rome, where it symbolized a magistrate's power and jurisdiction. 

Thomasville High Scholars Academy sophomore Anna Myhre finished her state-level term as 2018-2019 Georgia Junior Classical League Hostess at the Fall Forum on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia by appointing a new Hostess for the 2019-20 school year. 

Colin Connery and Colter Hill create paper gladiator helmets at the Georgia Junior Classical League Fall Forum.

Ella Williams and Laramie Strokes participate in Georgia Junior Classical League Fall Forum workshops.
