THS AFROTC Honors Local Veteran

The Thomasville community comes together like no other to honor the service of its veterans. Thomasville Army recruiter SSG Ralph Cajuste contacted Thomasville High School Air Force JROTC instructor MSgt Charles Smith to share that Archbold Memorial Hospital reached out to him about patient who was being discharged, PFC Madison Todd, who was a WWII veteran who fought at the Battle of the Bulge.  The hospital staff wanted to do something special for him to honor his service to this great country.  SSG Cajuste and MSgt Smith put their heads together and decided to do a flag dedication.  They were able to acquire a flag case, and Tulina Adams WoodmenLife Representative for Georgia and the staff at Woodmen Life were happy to donate a flag.  THS AFJROTC cadets folded the flag crisply and placed it neatly in the case.  Cajuste and Smith reached out to Sunbelt Trophy Gifts and Engraving, and they had a plaque engraved and affixed to the case in 30 minutes flat!  Finally, they turned to Publix at Park Place, where the bakery manager donated a sheet cake, and his staff beautifully decorated it, same day.  Commanding Captain Christian of the U.S. Army Valdosta Recruiting Company, came over to share some heartfelt words about PFT Todd's service. The ceremony was a huge success!  THS AFJROTC cadets and MSgt Smith, SSG Cajuste, and CPT Christian did an outstanding job of honoring one of our nation's finest!
