AP Stat Designs Experiments for Gummy Bears

Advanced Placement Statistics students in Charlotte Donald’s Scholars Academy class concluded a unit on Experimental Design with ‘The Gummy Bear Project.’  Students were provided the opportunity to practice the principles of experimental design and statistical inference as they designed a well-controlled experiment to test a factor that would affect how far gummy bears "fly" from a catapult. *No gummy bears were injured during the course of the experiments!  Pictured above: Rachel Brewer and Kaitlyn Kasper conduct an experiment of their own design.
