THS Graduate Johnson Excels in U.S. Army

Thomasville High School Class of 2019 graduate Cameron Johnson left Thomasville on July 8, 2019, headed to Ft. Benning, Georgia for One Stop Unit Training (OSUT), which is a combined Basic Training and Infantry training.  The training lasted for 14 weeks.  Johnson graduated on October 25, 2019 from Fort Benning.  Johnson’s Military Occupational Specialty is 11B (Infantry); however, during his training he was hand-picked to go to Washington D.C. for his first assignment.  He will be a member of the 3rd US Infantry Regiment, better known as the Old Guard, at Joint Base Meyer-Henderson Hall, in Arlington, Virginia.  PV2 Johnson will be assigned to the 4th Battalion, which conducts memorial affairs to honor fallen comrades, ceremonies, and special events that represent the Army communicating its story to our nation's citizens and the world.  PV2 Johnson left Sunday, November 3, 2019, headed to Arlington to begin this adventure. Johnson participated in Thomasville High School’s AFJROTC program all four years of high school and worked his way up from Flight Commander to Corps Commander, which is the top cadet in the whole program.
