Tom Taylor

     Coach Tom Taylor is the son of the late Coach Tommy Taylor Sr. and Francis Grubbs Taylor.  Taylor is a 1971 honor graduate of Cairo High School where he received Prep All-American honors under the tutelage of his Dad.  He is married to the former Diane Mitchell, and they have three children Tory, Tom, and Troy.  In 1976, Tom graduated from Valdosta State with a BA in Political Science.  His current assignment is ISS Instructor at Thomasville High School.

     Coach Taylor has extensive experience coaching high school football.  He was defensive coordinator from 1980 until 1983 when Mitchell-Baker won the AAA state championship. In 1984 he became the head coach and offensive coordinator winning two sub-regions and one region championship.  He posted a 28-15 record (.651) during his four-year tour.  Tom has also been a head coach with girls and boys basketball at Cook High in Adel as well as girls and boys track and cross country at West Hall High School in Oakwood, Georgia.  Taylor presently coaches the inside linebackers and heads the Thomasville girls' track program.
