Darrell Allen
 

Born in Thomasville, Georgia, Mr. Allen graduated from Thomasville High School in 1971. He attended Valdosta State University and graduated from Gupton Jones College of Funeral Services. Co-owner of Allen and Allen Funeral Home, Mr. Allen is a member of the Thomasville Kiwanis Club, Chamber of Commerce and the Thomasville High Touchdown Club.

Mr. Allen and his wife, Leslie, have one son, Matthew.

He began his service with the Thomasville City Board of Education on January 1, 1998.
 

Donnell Carley

Dr. J. Donnell Carley, Jr. was born in Thomasville, Georgia, the fourth of seven children.  He is a graduate of Thomasville City Schools, Thomas University, and Valdosta State University.  Dr. Carley has an honorary Ph.D. in education from the University of America in New York City.  He is the owner of Mu-Dear Child Care Center & Preschool.  He is also a member of the NSBA, Georgia Mass Choir, and numerous other civic and community organizations.  Dr. Carley is an advocate for children, especially children with special needs.  

Dr. Carley became a member of the Thomasville City Board of Education on January 1, 2002.

 

Matthew Conyers, Jr.

Chairman

Mr. Conyers is a former principal and central office administrator for many years who became a member of the Thomasville City Board of Education in January of 2000.

Mr. Conyers' wife, Imogene, is a retired Thomasville City Schools teacher.  They have two grown sons, Marcus and Jeffrey.

 

Andy Jones

Andrew Jones is a former teacher, coach, and administrator in the Thomasville City School System.  He received his bachelor degree from Florida Memorial College and his masters degree from Florida A&M University.

Mr. Jones is on the board of trustees of Thomas University and the board of directors of the Thomasville/Thomas County Hall of Fame.

Mr. Jones and his wife, Joice, have four children.  He is serving his first term on the Thomasville City Board of Education.

 

George Lily

George Lilly

Mr. Lilly received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and his Juris Doctor from Mercer University.  He is a partner in the law firm of Alexander and Vann, L.L.P.

Mr. Lilly and his wife, Nelray, have three children, Frances, Laura, and George.

He is serving his third term on the Thomasville City Board of Education.
 

John Everett

Mr. Everett is senior vice president of Commercial Bank.  He attended the University of Georgia and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a degree in finance.  Mr. Everett is president of the Thomasville YMCA, co-chairman of the Thomasville/Thomas County Sports Hall of Fame, and an executive committee member for the Thomasville/Thomas County Chamber of Commerce.  He is also a member of the Thomasville Rotary Club and the First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Everett and his wife, Lori, have three children, Harrison, Anderson, and Owen.  He is serving his first term on the Thomasville City Board of Education.

 

Jimmy Woodward
 

Mr. Woodward is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Flowers Foods.  He is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in accounting.  Mr. Woodward serves on the board of directors of PRG-Schultz, Inc. and Integrity Media Incorporated.  He is an active member and has held leadership positions in a number of community organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club, the technical school and the public elementary, middle and high schools.  He is a member of professional organizations, including The American Institute of CPAs and The Georgia Society of CPAs.

A native of Quincy, FL, Mr. Woodward and his wife, Penny, have two sons, Blake and Brooks.  He joined the Thomasville City Board of Education on January 1, 2006.
