Parental Involvement

The Thomasville City School System is putting a new parental involvement initiative to work throughout all of the schools. Why? Because parental involvement is so important to each student’s success in school.

Sometimes parents feel intimidated about getting involved with their child’s school. That is why each school in the Thomasville City School System has an “open-door” policy for our parents. We welcome you to come and visit anytime. We want you to feel involved and important.

Did you know there are research studies that show when parents are involved in their children’s education, grades, attendance, and self-confidence increase while discipline problems decrease? There are also studies that show while 91% of parents feel parental involvement is “extremely important” to student success, only 25% feel involved in their child's school. At Thomasville City Schools, we want to change this number to 100%.

The following links will give you some information and parental involvement strategies for your child's grade level. If you have an area of interest you would like to be addressed, or if you have any suggestions, please send an e-mail to mhayc@rose.net.
