Science Academy |

| The Science Academy is an exciting, new program that is
being offered at MacIntyre Park Middle School to enrich student's science
experience. Students will use what he/she has learned in class and apply it
to "real" scientific issues. They will work in teams to discover answers to
problems real scientists face today. They will be building on knowledge
gained in their science classes. The eight-week session will culminate in a
three or four day field experience. On the trip the students will complete
"hands-on" activities with actual scientists. They will be required to
complete a portfolio of their work. It will be graded and applied to their
science grade. There will be three different sessions. One session per grade
level. The only requirements are: students must be passing all subjects,
must not have a discipline record and must be recommended by a
teacher. |
