Principal's Welcome

    I am so proud to be the principal of such a wonderful school as Jerger. At Jerger we are fortunate to have well-trained, hard working and dedicated teachers. Our students are eager to learn. Our parents enthusiastically participate throughout the school as they assist in the classrooms, work in the media center, or help behind the scenes in other countless ways. Jerger parents are actively involved and are welcome to school at any time.  We have a very active PTO which provides extra funds for various projects.         

Throughout the past year our teachers had extensive training on the new Georgia Performance Standards which will be implemented this school year in the area of Math for grades K-2 and Science for grades 4-5.  We have adopted new Math textbooks in grades K-2 which are aligned with the new Georgia Performance Standards. We have adopted new Social Studies textbooks for grades 4 and 5 which are also aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards and complement the Learning Focused teaching strategies which all teachers have been trained to use in the past three years.

 We continue  to improve our curriculum yearly as we examine our test scores and make a concentrated effort to show growth each year.  We have high expectations for ourselves as well as our students.  As teachers, parents, and students work together, we have no doubt that we will continue to show great gains in all areas.  But, most of all, we hope to foster a love of learning during these elementary years at Jerger.
