Dear Parents/Guardians and Students, As we begin another year at Harper Elementary, there are many new and exciting changes taking place. A major addition to the school will offer a welcome atmosphere for our new Pre-Kindergarten students. Other changes to the school include a renovated cafeteria, updated classroom intercoms, a new fire alarm system, new classroom computers and playground equipment, as well as new carpet and sound system in the gym. Our theme for the 2009-2010 school year is “Dream Big.” As educators, we have the responsibility to inform students they have the ability to attain whatever goals they seek; to always aim higher than they believe they can reach; and to never be afraid or hesitant to step off the accepted path and head in their own positive direction. We must instill a belief in our students and teach the value of persistence, discipline and determination. By example, we must teach students to look at the bright side and not let adversity or people “steal their dreams.” We have achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for six consecutive years and once again have been named a Distinguished Title 1 School. We will continue to encourage students to do their best and to “Dream Big.” My door is always open. Sincerely, Allan Rodemoyer

Estimados Padres / Tutores y Estudiantes,
Al comenzar un año más en Harper Primaria, hay muchas nuevas y emocionantes cambios que están teniendo lugar. Uno de los principales además de la escuela ofrecerá una atmósfera de bienvenida para los nuevos estudiantes de Pre-Kindergarten. Otras modificaciones de la escuela incluyen un renovado cafetería, aula intercomunicadores actualizada, un nuevo sistema de alarma contra incendios, nueva aula informática y juegos infantiles, así como nuevas alfombras y el sistema de sonido en el gimnasio. Nuestro tema para el año escolar 2009-2010 es "soñar en grande." Como educadores, tenemos la responsabilidad de informar a los estudiantes que tienen la capacidad de alcanzar cualquier metas que buscan; objetivo siempre más altos de lo que creen que pueden alcanzar, y que nunca tener miedo o dudan a la hora de paso de la ruta y aceptó la cabeza en su propia dirección positiva. Debemos inculcar la creencia en nuestros alumnos y enseñar el valor de la persistencia, la disciplina y determinación. Por ejemplo, tenemos que enseñar a los estudiantes a ver el lado positivo y no dejar que la adversidad o las personas "robar sus sueños." Hemos logrado el Progreso Anual Adecuado (AYP) por seis años consecutivos y, una vez más, se han nombrado a un distinguido Título 1 Escuela.
