Play to Win!
As we begin another school year at Harper Elementary, we continue to make positive changes. New bulletin boards, paint and tile floors have been installed in the hallways and cafeteria. A new computer lab, with state of the art computers, has been added. The old office area was converted to a teacher conference and data room. Finally, we added an additional first grade, fourth grade and two Pre-K classrooms. Our theme for the 2010-2011 school year is “Play to Win.” Every person has been endowed with a certain mixture of abilities and opportunities which makes him/her unique. As educators, we have the responsibility to encourage our students to not settle for mediocrity with their dreams and goals. We must also stress that success does not come without effort and enthusiasm. We have achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for seven consecutive years and been named a Distinguished Title I School for four years in a row. We will continue to encourage our students to do their best, make wise choices, display tremendous effort and awe-inspiring enthusiasm and “Play to Win” in all their future endeavors. My door is always open.

Juega a ganar!
Al comenzar otro año escolar en Harper Elementary, seguimos haciendo cambios positivos. Nueva tablones de anuncios, pintura y pisos de baldosas se han instalado en los pasillos y la cafetería. Un nuevo laboratorio de computación, con el estado de los equipos de arte, ha añadido. El área de oficinas de edad se convirtió en un maestro de conferencias y sala de datos. Por último, hemos añadido un adicional de primer grado, cuarto grado y dos aulas de pre-K. Nuestro tema para el año escolar 2010-2011 es "jugar para ganar." Cada persona ha sido dotado de una cierta mezcla de habilidades y oportunidades que hace que él / ella único. Como educadores, tenemos la responsabilidad de animar a nuestros estudiantes a no conformarse con la mediocridad con sus sueños y metas. También debemos recalcar que el éxito no viene sin esfuerzo y entusiasmo. Hemos logrado el Progreso Anual Adecuado (AYP) durante siete años consecutivos y ha sido nombrado miembro distinguido del Título I Escuela de cuatro años en una fila. Vamos a seguir alentando a nuestros estudiantes a hacer todo lo posible, tomar decisiones inteligentes, pantalla enorme esfuerzo y entusiasmo inspirador y "Play to Win" en todos sus futuros esfuerzos.
