Sabrina Everett ![]() Superintendent |
After graduating from Thomasville High School, Sabrina attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. She transferred to Georgia Southern University where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Special Education and Master's degree in Interrelated Special Education. She began teaching in Athens, Georgia in 1983. Since that time, she has done further post-graduate work at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and Valdosta State University. Mrs. Everett has had a myriad of work experiences prior to being hired in 1994 as the Director of Pupil Personnel Services. Mrs. Everett was named Associate Superintendent in July 2003 and became Superintendent in January 2004. Sabrina is married to her life-long friend, Moses D. Everett,Jr. They have two sons, Moses D. Everett, III and Samuel Christopher Everett. |

Mary Friesen
Special Education Director |
Mary A. Friesen has worked for the Thomasville City Schools since moving to Thomasville in 1988. Since that time she has been a speech pathologist at Scott Elementary and Thomasville High School, an assistant principal at Thomasville High School, the principal at Scott Elementary and now the Director of Special Education. She received her B.A.E. in Speech Pathology from the University of Florida, an M.S. in Speech Pathology from the University of South Florida, and her educational leadership certification from Valdosta State University. She began her career in 1978 as a speech pathologist and has worked for the Duval County School System, the Pinellas County School System and in private practice. She is married to her high-school sweetheart, Larry Friesen, and they have three sons, Matthew, Jon and Luke. |

Cheryl Hay

Cheryl H. Hay is a native of Thomasville and a product of the Thomasville City School System. She attended Eastside Elementary and Thomasville High School, where she graduated in 1974. Mrs. Hay attended Georgia Southern University, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Education in the area of Jr. High Math and Science in 1978. She graduated from Valdosta State University with a Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance 1983. She later added an Educational Leadership endorsement through Valdosta State University and is currently completing applied dissertation requirements for a Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership through Nova Southeastern University. Mrs. Hay has been employed by the Thomasville City School system since 1978, serving as a science teacher at Douglass Middle School for 8 years, a guidance counselor at Douglass and MacIntyre Park Middle School for a period of 10 years, and as an assistant principal at MacIntyre Park for a period of 7 years. Mrs. Hay was hired as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the school system in June 2003. In this capacity, she coordinates various educational programs, directs the Title I and federal programs, serves as system testing coordinator, and facilitates the completion of the consolidation funding application. Mrs. Hay is married to Jim Hay, Jr., a local plumbing contractor. They have two children, Beau and Jennifer. |

Dusty Kornegay

(Dusty) George Kornegay joined the Thomasville City School System in June 2004. With more than 20 years experience in public education, Dusty has served as a high school teacher and as assistant principal and principal at the secondary and elementary levels. He previously worked in the Burke County and Thomas County School Systems. Dusty received
his Bachelor’s Degree in English and Christianity from Mercer
University in 1985, his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership
from Valdosta State University in 1994, his Educational Specialist
degree in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University in
1998, and his Doctoral of Educational Leadership degree from Nova
Southeastern University in 2004. As director of administrative services, Dusty coordinates the school system’s budget and financial operations, facilities management, board policy development, and human resources.

Stephanie Thomas

Stephanie Thomas is a native of Thomasville, Georgia. She graduated from Thomasville High School in 1989. Upon graduating, she entered Clark Atlanta University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems in 1993. She was later employed with Southwest Georgia Technical College where she served in several capacities including Program Assistant, Case Manager and Director of Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA), now Workforce Investment Act (WIA). Later Stephanie attended Valdosta State University where she received a Masters of Social Work degree in 2000. She was employed with Thomasville City Schools Board of Education as the School Social Worker and later promoted to Student Services Director. She is married to A. Henry Thomas, choral director at Thomasville High School and MacIntyre Park Middle School. |

She and her husband, Steve, have two grown sons, Swaine and Daron. They enjoy the outdoors together and visiting family.
